Dr. Becky Humphreys, OD, MEd, FAAO
Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Becky Humphreys, who is married to Dr. Troy Humphreys, brings a wealth of expertise to our practice. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1999 while concurrently completing a Master of Education in Visual Function in Learning.
In 1999, Dr. Humphreys embarked on an in-house residency at SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan, NY, focusing on pediatrics, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation following traumatic brain injuries. Her passion at Preferred Vision centers around pediatric and family vision care. Dr. Humphreys also takes charge of the Vision Therapy services offered at Preferred Vision.
One of her favorite roles is educating children, teachers, and school nurses about vision and how to detect vision issues. Beyond her role as an eye doctor, Dr. Becky is a devoted mother to her two young children. It’s no wonder why our young patients adore “Dr. Becky” – her dedication and expertise make her an exceptional part of our team.

Dr. Jennifer L Peterson, OD
Dr. Jennifer L Peterson, OD, is a valued member of the Preferred Vision family. She is a Family Practice Doctor of Optometry with a remarkable career spanning over 24 years, marked by diverse experiences across various optometric specialties.
Dr. Peterson earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University – College Of Optometry in 1999, establishing a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise. Her extensive background includes proficiency in medical co-management and providing comprehensive eye health care.
Dr. Jennifer L Peterson is a true asset to our team, bringing not only her wealth of experience but also a joyful and compassionate approach to patient care. We are proud to have her as a part of our dedicated team at Preferred Vision.

Dr. Troy Humphreys, OD FAAO
Dr. Troy Humphreys, a dedicated optometrist, hails from Sparks, Nevada. He embarked on his academic journey by earning his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1996. His commitment to excellence led him to obtain his Doctorate of Optometry with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000.
Dr. Humphreys’ impressive career has been marked by numerous achievements, including being awarded a fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2005. In 2016, he was honored as the Nevada Optometric Association Doctor of Optometry of the Year and has also served as the Past President of the Nevada Optometric Association.
As an adjunct clinical professor of Optometry for Pacific University, Dr. Humphreys shares his expertise and passion for eye care with the next generation of optometrists. His interests span a wide range of general medical eye care, including innovative treatments for dry eye, and managing refractive surgery procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICLs).
Beyond his profession, Dr. Troy Humphreys is an outdoor enthusiast, finding joy in skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. He shares these adventures with his wife and two young children. He’s also a licensed private pilot, exploring the skies above the Western US.
Dr. Humphreys’ dedication extends to providing eye care to underserved communities. Over the past decade, he has extended his services to thousands of patients in Costa Rica, Honduras, and Mexico. His commitment to creating a patient-centric model of care is a testament to his unwavering passion for improving the well-being of his community.
